• What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are used for facial aesthetic treatments and are injected into the skin. They are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalise the skin. Dermal fillers are based on Hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a substance that naturally exists in your body.

  • How long does a dermal filler treatment last?

One of the great advantages of dermal filler treatment is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment.

  • Does dermal filler treatment need pain relief?

Generally, pain relief is not necessary when injecting into the skin to correct lines and wrinkles. Some people may experience the treatment as a mild discomfort. A local anaesthetic cream can be applied to the area for a more comfortable treatment experience.

The lips are a highly sensitive part of the body and, therefore, we only use dermal filler products with local anaesthetic lidocaine included for a more comfortable treatment experience.

  • Are dermal fillers suitable for me?

One of the benefits of dermal fillers is that they are suitable for a wide range of patients. If you are looking for rejuvenated skin, or wish to achieve a reduction in the prevalence of facial lines and wrinkles, this treatment could be an excellent option. The treatment can also be used to treat some instances of scarring. We also use dermal fillers to treat patients who wish to enhance the structure of their face, or add volume and improve contouring.

  • Are there any side effects to treatment?

Some minor bruising or swelling can result following the injections, but this should be short-lived and can be concealed using make-up.

  • Will it be obvious I’ve had dermal fillers?

Babita and her team are world-leading experts in the injection of dermal fillers, and in most instances, even those closest to you won’t notice that you’ve had cosmetic treatment. We aim to achieve a natural look, so people may simply notice that you look more youthful, fresh and rested.

  • What is the aftercare for fillers?

There are certain tasks that you cannot do after your procedure such as no alcohol for 24 hours, no make-up for 24 hours, no saunas/facials for 7-14 days, no rigorous exercise for 2 days.
